A Cheese Bone is a hard 100% all natural reduced in lactose
cheese chew for dogs based on a century old high in protein recipe from the
Himalayan region of Nepal.

The cheese flavour makes it a natural attractant for dogs and
its hard texture makes it a long-lasting dog treat.  

They are a great alternative to rawhide.

Our chews are made using only 2 ingredients :

It contains 99,9% European « Pasture/ Meadow » Milk
and 0,01% Sea Salt. There is no preservatives or additives.

Our Cheese bones are lactose reduced, grain free and gluten
free. They contain no artificial colours and no flavouring.  

They contain an average of 65% Protein.

Our Cheese Bones are made of European Milk. 

Don’t be fooled by the marketing claims !
This is a controversial topic because none of these cheese bones are really made out of Yak milk anymore but it remains a very strong marketing claim despite the truth.
Pay good attention to the ingredient deck and it will show that manufacturers out of Asia are using a blend of Yak’s and Cow’s or Buffalo’s milk.
If you dig further the blend from most Asian companies are not based on Yak’s milk as they contain more than 99% of cow’s or Buffalo’s milk and more and more none.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND CHECK THE ORIGIN OF YOUR CHEW. EU LAWS FORBIDS THE IMPORT OF MILK BASED PRODUCT FROM NEPAL AND A FEW OTHER ASIAN COUNTRIES.

The imported products are made in small farms which smokes the Cheese Bones for preservative reasons. As the product dries outside or in a non-hermetic environment it attracts insects.

The smoke acts as a natural repellent.

This process colours the product and gives it a particular strong smell.

Our products are dried in special rooms on inox racks. Therefore we don’t need to smoke our cheese bones which is an advantage. Dogs when given the choice will more often choose our non-smoked cheese bones as the cheese odour is not masked by the smoke.

When heavily smoked the product can also stain and leave bad odours on your carpet or sofa which is not the case with Coucour’s Cheese Bones.   

Keep your Cheese Bone in a cool and dry place.

All our products have a 3 years shelf life.

Cheese Bones are suitable for all dogs above 4 months old.

Courpi’s Cheese Bones are fully digestible as they are naturally reduced in lactose and fat.

The key is the right size for the right dog !

A chew should last for hours and even days but as it is an expensive treat people tent to downsize the Cheese Bone at first to try it but that is a mistake. Most Large dogs will chew it in a few days while Medium and Small dogs will take more time to chew it (it can last weeks).

It also depend on your dog’s chewing habit and there are exceptions with a few breeds which naturally have stronger bite strength (American Staff, Rottweiler, Golden retriever …) or working dogs who won’t quit (border collie,…) until it’s over.

The great majority of customers are very satisfied with the quality and chewing time of the Cheese Bone as regular dental chew only last a couple of minutes.

If there is a remaining piece you can microwave it for 30 to 60 seconds until it puffs into a crispy cheese soufflé !
